It is easy to make an excuse when the weather is not totally ideal for walking….it’s too cold, too damp, too windy but make the effort and you feel so much better after a walk in the autumn! How good does it feel to get warm from exercising outside in the cold, walking in a bit of drizzle makes that warm drink afterwards so much better and that windy day definitely blows the cobwebs of those autumn cold and flu bugs away!

A crunchy leaf walk though Savernake Forest or West Woods. A bracing walk up one of the white horses! A gentle stroll along one of sections of the Kennet and Avon canal.
Make sure you are prepared with some waterproofs, a wooly hat and gloves and I guarantee you will feel exhirated while you exercise those bugs away and get some lovely autumn sunshine to keep that SAD away.
